Wax melt Care
Getting Started
- Select Your Melt: : Ensure your melt bowl is sufficient size for the melt.Do not overfill the dish, as this can cause spills or a weaker scent throw.
- Prepare the Burner: Place the wax into the clean, dry dish of a wax melt burner.
- Tea Light Burners: Use a standard unscented 4-hour tea light. Avoid "maxi" or 8-hour tea lights, as they can cause the burner to overheat and crack.
- Electric Burners: Follow manufactures instructions.
- Location: Always place your burner on a stable, heat-resistant surface away children and pets and keep away from drafts, open windows, and flammable items.
The Melting Experience
- Fragrance Release: As the wax melts, it will release its aroma. One melt typically lasts between 6 to 12 hours of total melting time.
- Do Not Add Water: Never add water or oils to the wax dish. This can cause the hot wax to splatter and may result in burns.
- Short Bursts: For the freshest scent, burn in 30–60 minute blocks or up to a maximum of 4 hours at a time to prevent the wax from losing its fragrance too quickly.
Safe Disposal and Swapping
- Knowing When to Change: When you can no longer smell the fragrance, it is time to replace the wax. Note that wax melts do not evaporate like candle wax; they only lose their scent.
- The "Warm & Pop" Method: If the wax has hardened, turn on your burner for 30–60 seconds. This melts just the bottom layer, allowing the solid wax disc to slide out easily into the bin.
- No Drains: Never pour melted wax down the sink, as it will solidify and block your drains.
Storage Tips
- Cool and Dark: Store your unused melts in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the scent and colour.
- Keep Sealed: Use airtight containers or the original packaging to prevent the fragrance from fading.
